Open plan areas are a key part of modern teaching, and have been shown to work well as learning environments. This kind of space can be the most acoustically demanding however, due to a diverse range of teaching activities and pupil needs. Unfortunately there is currently very little guidance for the acoustic design of open plan teaching spaces.
